Auspicious Dates 2027 Singapore: Wedding, Moving House and Business Opening Dates for the Year of the Goat

Auspicious Dates 2027 Singapore: Wedding, Moving House and Business Opening Dates for the Year of the Goat

Published on October 12, 2026

Auspicious dates 2027 are already on the minds of many Singapore couples, homeowners and business owners. Popular wedding venues are often booked many months ahead, BTO key collections are scheduled well in advance, and new businesses plan their openings around lease dates. Starting your date planning now gives you the widest choice.

This guide explains when the Year of the Fire Goat begins, which zodiac signs clash with the year, which months to treat with caution, and which months are worth shortlisting. It also explains why every date must still be checked against your family's BaZi through proper auspicious date selection.

When Does the Year of the Goat Begin?

2027 is the year of Ding Wei (丁未), the Fire Goat. There are two start dates to know:

  • 4 February 2027 (Li Chun 立春): The Start of Spring. For BaZi and date selection, the Goat year begins here.
  • 6 February 2027 (Chinese New Year): The first day of the lunar year. The lunar calendar and zodiac year begin here.

This means every date in January 2027, and the first days of February, still falls under the Fire Horse year (丙午) for date selection purposes. If you are planning an event in January 2027, it should be checked against 2026's energy, not 2027's.

Zodiac Signs That Clash with 2027

In a Goat year, four signs are traditionally said to offend Tai Sui (太岁), the Grand Duke of the year:

  • Goat: Born in the year of its own sign, which is traditionally treated with care.
  • Ox: In direct clash with the Goat, the most significant conflict of the year.
  • Dog: In a punishment and destruction relationship with the Goat.
  • Rat: In a harm relationship with the Goat.

If the bride, groom, homeowner or business owner was born in one of these years, the choice of date and hour becomes even more important. Your zodiac sign is only one part of your chart, however. Your full BaZi, especially your Day Pillar, often matters more.

Is 2027 a "Blind Year"?

You may hear older relatives say that 2027 is a blind year (盲年), sometimes called a widow year (寡妇年). This is a calendar observation. The lunar year runs from 6 February 2027 to 25 January 2028, and both Li Chun dates, 4 February 2027 and 4 February 2028, fall outside it. Some families traditionally avoid weddings in such years.

This label describes the calendar, not your marriage. What a qualified master checks is whether the specific day and hour suit both partners' charts. If your parents are concerned, a properly selected date with a clear explanation is usually the best way to give everyone peace of mind.

Wedding Dates in 2027: ROM and Customary Ceremony

Many Singapore couples hold the ROM solemnisation and the customary tea ceremony and banquet on separate days. Each date deserves its own selection. Proper wedding date selection singapore checks both partners' BaZi and, ideally, the parents' zodiac signs, to find a day that supports the marriage rather than straining it.

Plan the legal timeline too. The notice of marriage must be filed online at least 21 days before the solemnisation, and the marriage must take place within three months of filing. Select your auspicious ROM date first, then file your notice within that window. For banquets, choosing your date before you sign with a hotel or restaurant saves the painful choice between a good venue and a good date.

Moving House in 2027

For an auspicious date moving house, the master looks for a day suitable for moving in (入宅) that does not clash with any household member. The master also selects the hour at which the family first enters with the traditional items, such as rice, water and a lit lamp. If you are renovating first, pair the move-in date with Earth God prayers before works begin. Remember that HDB only allows noisy works on weekdays.

Most families avoid moving during the 7th lunar month, 2 to 31 August 2027. If your BTO keys are due around then, plan your move-in date early rather than rushing in.

Business Opening Dates in 2027

For shops, offices and F&B outlets, a good opening date suits the business owner's BaZi, avoids the year's clashes and works with the facing direction of the premises. Many business owners also prefer days marked suitable for opening for business (开市) and signing agreements. A commercial feng shui assessment of the entrance and cashier position completes the picture.

Why Every Date Must Be Checked Against Your BaZi

A general almanac cannot see your family. A date marked as good may still clash with a spouse's Day Pillar or a parent's zodiac sign. Master Rayden Sim has been selecting dates for Singapore families since 1989. He was born into a feng shui family in 1969, was certified as a Full Professional Geomancy Master in 2002 and received the Circle of Excellence Award in 2012. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is a wedding in January 2027 a Horse year or a Goat year wedding?

A: For date selection, it is a Horse year wedding, because the Goat year begins at Li Chun on 4 February 2027.

Q: Should Ox-born couples avoid getting married in 2027?

A: Not necessarily. A clash year calls for more careful selection, not automatic avoidance. A master can choose a day and hour that support the couple's charts.

Q: How early should I book a 2027 date consultation?

A: For weddings, before you confirm your venue. For moves and openings, as soon as you know your key collection or lease start date.

Q: Are number-pattern dates good wedding dates?

A: Dates with eye-catching numbers are popular, but the numbers have no bearing on whether a date is auspicious in the Tong Shu or for your BaZi.
